This one-day class is intended for those who don’t necessarily need the full furnace or duct classes but need to know enough about house and furnace interactions to make sure the home is not left in a dangerous condition as Weatherization work is being performed. This class will cover topics from furnace vent system operational basics to the impact of duct leakage on forced air furnaces. There will be particular focus on open returns and the impact of duct repair. Participants will learn how to perform a “Worst Case” draft test of combustion appliances while using the DSTO form for guidance. This class is essential for Shell Technicians who want an answer to the question: “How do we properly test out the door”?
