Community Action is guided by 12 ethics. This training will introduce you to the ethics, then delve deeper into these specific ethics:
- Exercise whatever discretionary authority we have under the law to promote the interests of the poor.
- Accept as a personal duty the responsibility to keep up to date on emerging issues and to conduct ourselves with professional competence, fairness, impartiality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Trainer Bio Jessica Fraser is Director of the Indiana Institute for Working Families. Amy Carter is the Network Training Manager at INCAA and the Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator at IIWF. Both women completed their CCAPs in 2020 and love to talk about the ethics. As Charles McCann, CCAP Emeritus, says, “If the ethics aren’t being discussed, they like aren’t being used.”
